Hello to all the Permanently Disabled Butterflies members. I want to bring up something that hasn’t touched us yet, but it might before long. Sometimes preparedness can prevent problems.

Many of the groups’ leaders have been encouraged to provide rules for the groups so that we don’t forget the importance of the site and why we are here. We’re here to get and exchange information, to get some resources that might help us, to discuss our problems and situations, and get some comfort during the long haul of permanent disability. And we’re all equal here.

I don't believe that any one of us would ever intentionally be mean or hurtful, but sometimes pain can be a terrible task master. Although you have done wonderfully, I ask that you please continue as such. And any new people that might be hurtful or there is a problem, I need to know about immediately.

1) There will be absolutely NO arguing allowed and that leads to fights and sniping, which is NOT allowed. Members here are not right or wrong. We may make suggestions, tell our stories, and offer helpful resources and such. But everyone- please, please, please, I can't stress this enough that you must talk with YOUR doctor. They are the only ones who can provide you physical and/or emotional services.

2) We will NOT discuss religion. If you really feel the need to share this information, please do so by asking the person if they would like to hear it and if so which internet Messenger service they use. If that person doesn’t object and you know that you're not offending that person, you may send them a PM (private message)—but double check first.

3) There is NO selling of products on this forum. That means NO personal advertising and no SPAM. There is a big difference between you having tried something and sharing that story versus taking advantage of the situation and being a sales person. If you feel strongly about a product, I suggest you contact me, the group leader, and wait for my response. I will find out whether I can give the okay.

4) Try as much as possible to stay on topic. It really helps the poster to feel his/her needs are being met. If you want to go off topic, it’s okay to start a new topic. I personally post and don’t care if you go off topic with me, but other posters asking for help may feel abandoned.

5) Thank all of you for reading the posts. I notice Members are reading the posts and thank you so much. I realize that posting sometimes isn’t easy due to pain, due to problems with hands or movement and one day when you’re having a better day; it would make me really happy to have you post, even for one day. I send my love and hugs to all of you and my wish for better days ahead.

A good rule of life is do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup
