This sounds like something from the Sopranos.

The birds around here each spring come under my patio cover to where my tools are and go to my string head floor mop there and pick out the strings on it to use for their nests.

Two years ago, I came up with the idea to do a mandatory daily groom of my two cats (who have long fur) and place that fur on top of the mop. Sure enough, the birds took the offering of cat fur and left the mop alone. I thought I was helping keep little birdies warm with cat fur. So every morning I would leave cat fur on the mop as soon as I got up. But if I was late getting up, I would have a bird on the wall waiting to see me appear in the kitchen then when I appeared, he would be at my glass sliding door screeching at me to "get the lead out." [Isn't this how King Kong got started?]

Well, we're at that time again, and it means that the cats get forced to be gathered and groomed to harvest their fur for the birds. The cats have told me to give up using the string mop and get the cloth mop that gradually you throw the mop head away and replace it.

The cats said these are nothing but Mafia birds and these Mafia birds would stop and "The Bird Enforcer at the glass sliding door" would learn that we don't give in to his coming to the door and "leaning on us." My female cat says she'll buy a 9mm gun to put a cap in his tailfeathers when he comes to the back door again, but I said no violence or the birds will up their violence and I can't take a whole bucket of bird poop being thrown against my patio door or all over my car. Oh, definitely not the bird poop!!!

A good rule of life is do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup
