yeah; sometimes we get some really good stuff at the IBC lounge (support group for inflammatory breast cancer); I figured it would just be wrong not to share them over here! I actually got them, which means my brain was working today for once! I actually had a really good day; I even went swimming and made some of the lifeguards look bad (although since I'm an ex-swimmer it was incredibly pathetic)! Hope SS wasn't checking up on me today; 'cause I wasn't having any difficulties! Too bad every day isn't like that!

I think SS is so overloaded and short staffed, they can't do their own work so what time do they have to check up on anybody. I think they would only check, if some one reported you to them for something.

yeah, i'm not worried about it; didn't lie on the application or anything. I was shocked when it said they'd re-evluate my case in 5-7 years; talk about short staffed! At least you don't have to worry about being harrassed once you eventually get approved (when I was working I felt so bad for the guys on Workmen's comp or short term dissablity if the company thought they were faking it (they thought pretty much everyone was faking it); the HR guy would actually "spy" on these guys to catch them doing any sort of activity that he could use in court to get them off compensation/short term dissability and get them fired).

Like I said; sometimes I feel really guilty for being on it since I'm not bedridden or immoblie. But my treatment side effects and damage to my body/brain just doesn't make it feasible for me to hold down a

"normal" job. My hubby was teasing me the other day that I couldn't even sort the laundry without needing a day in bed and lots of pain meds. Then on the flip side I have days where I go swimming with the kids all day! I'm just glad and very blessed to have the "good days".

Hugs

Jessi

Jessi, your ssd case and those of many others are prime examples of where we go wrong. The claimants should never be made to feel guilty or have people look at them because they do not have "visible" disabilities.

It amazes me that non-disabled people will show compassion and charity to others around the world, but can be so mean to the disabled right here in our own neighborhoods with invisible disabilies (and sometimes visable disabilities)--they haven't learned that disabilities can be visible and invisible, but both are just as disabling.

I have both visable and invisable disabilities and I have to use an electric scooter, but even I had an elderly man in the grocery store a while back that lacked tolerance for me because I wasn't getting my stuff out of the frozen foods section fast enough for him (its in the Disabled Articles, I wrote about it there). But a deceased disabled person wrote that eventually people either become disabled or die, so there's a 50 percent chance that some of these intolerant people may end up with our ailments and our struggles.

FOR SOME REASON, THE SOFTWARE IS TAKING THE LETTERS SSD AND PUTTING THEM IN BLUE AND UNDERLINING THEM AND LINKING THEM TO SOME CREME. I ALERTED ROY AND ASKED IF HE COULD DO ANYTHING.

Ahh Suz, I always knew you were a naughty girl, SSD, huh... (ok so I thought it said "crime" not "creme"; chemo brain folks, not my fault...

I've had a lot of people question why I was on SSD (I think they see it for people who are immobile; but then when they see the long periods I go through of extreme pain they start to get it (or the chemo brain, good thing I generally have a good sense of humor about it; except with hubby; I'm really touchy with him about it for some reason...). Thankfully I have a wonderful support group, that helps me out so much!

I think that Silvadine cream (SSD) is what they put on me at the end of radiation when my skin started to peel off (tis was quite lovely; my family really got sick of me showing them every day how much worse it was). That with some other rinse stuff. Great stuff; I probablly have several almost empty bottles still laying around! Now my armpit is just reddish/purplish with lots of blown blood vessels and I only grow hair in the part that wasn't hit by radiation; it's quite lovely!

Thanks to Roy, we're back to typing SSD without it underlining it, turning it to blue letters and linking it to some type of creme. I didn't want anyone to think I was promoting some darn creme!!! [I SPOKE TOO SOON, ITS STILL CONVERTING SSD]

Jessi, I've often talked to my male cat and said that when me and my two cats eventally rule the world, things will be different. We'll tackle SSD, ADA, carpeted cat furniture for all cats, and more.

looks like we're safe on the SSD now! I'm glad your cats are so proactive! Mine just likes to snuggle! When I was trying to get pregnant (my body forgot how to ovulate for almost two years then boom it started working again) I would carry her around the house like a baby! She loved it; when I was pregnant she'd lay across my belly and Brady would just kick at her, she didn't care! She loves to snuggle up on someone's chest to sleep at night too.

Kevin wants to get another cat to be a "mouser" since we had rodent problems last year. The only problem was neither of our cats (both front declawed) were getting the mice; the dog was getting the mice (and birds, squirrels and working on rabbits).

Chemo has made me allergic to my furry friends; so while I won't get rid of my little baby; once she is gone we won't be getting any more. Its a shame; I love animals so much - but everyone in my family has them so we will go visit those!

Hugs

Jessi

OH, surgeons office called today; the lump in my left breast (we already knew not cancer) is fibrocystic disease. So sounds like it's not going away; put the put a marker in there so I'm guessing as long as no changes they won't need to do andditional biospies!
