If you don't have someone to accompany you to have a colonoscopy test done, most places will not allow you to go alone and take a bus or take a taxi--you must have someone come with you and drive you home. This isn't always possible for everyone.

If you are in this situation, AND you cannot get someone to go with you, AND the colonoscopy is just routine and not for existing or suspected problems you may have, a doctor can instead arrange for you to have a Barium Enema Test.

The Barium Enema Test will not sedate you, you do not have to have someone go with you and it is not as thorough as a colonoscopy, but it is better than doing nothing. If the Barium Enema Test finds a questionable result, then more tests will be necessary and perhaps a colonoscopy will then be necessary.

This is just some information you can discuss with your doctor and may help some people here.

A good rule of life is do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup
