Here’s an article on a woman that received a police ticket because the sidewalk runs out and she rides on the street in order to get to her job. I kept researching and found where people were commenting on this and this lady's friend wrote in and said the lady has little money but wants to be independent AND it would cost $7 per day to take transportation to her job AND SHE IS NOT ON SUPPORT FROM ANY AGENCY.

Police ticketed her and the article talks about differences in some states as to riding electric scooters/power chairs. Imagine if you had no car, had to use a powerchair or electric scooter and had to go to doctor's appointments (boy, I see a neurologist, an opthamologist, a therapist, the HMO primary care plus I go to a disabled group, and add into that food shopping, getting prescriptions and any other errands. This is just food for thought for all of us because with many of us our disabilities get worse and some may have to go into electric power chairs/scooters if not in them already, and some areas of land are not fully developed with sidewalks, so we could each find ourselves in this ladies predictament of using a road going to a doctor, food shopping, getting presciptions, etc.
