 Here's an article on granite kitchen countertops that is worth reading and apparently they emit some level of radon and radiation--but the discussion is whether it can be dangerous and possibly cancerous. As always, information is knowledge so here is an article for you to read about the controversy.

 After reading the above article I had to write. The whole "Granite Radon and Radiation" scare. This all goes back almost 20 years to when one of the top "Solid Surface" manufactures sponsered a study. The study and an acticle was written and published in "Solid Surface". The following site containes a reply to that article. I suggest all read it and see what they think.
