Do you feel shame or guilt because you are disabled? Are you disabled and have children and feel shame or guilt around your children because you are disabled?

Well here is a site that disabled people like you need to read. It takes parts from other important social movements and compares them to disability pride. Please read the article as it is important to throw off the shame and guilt for yourselt and any children you have. Another danger is that if you don't break the feelings of shame and guilt, you'll unknowingly teach your children that disabled people should feel shame and guilt.

Also, as it points out, having shame and guilt can prevent you from asserting your disability rights when you have to. I had to bring in HUD to help me with disability discrimination where I live and HUD was successful for me. And I have to assert my rights at times with my service animal when out, and shopkeepers say OKAY and back right off.
