wolf - you are lucky! wish my leg hair would quit growing! lol.. i do take lyrica sometimes. i hate the way it makes me feel and i forget a lot to take it..i forget to take my meds a lot. plus i feel sick to my stomach and don't want to take them sometimes. i wonder if having too may of those pain injections might cause the toe nails to do that. ive had 7-8 in 10 months...yeah - a lot...im sure they have done something to me. mispati - i hate goosebumps too! they hurt to touch and make my legs itch.

7-10 injections are normal for this amount of time for a pain clinic. But do ask Iken what it done to his former spouse he is not a fan of injections. They do cause long term side effects and diabetes is one of the many.
How can I be a doctor when I spend much of my time visiting them ?

i was told that you should not have more than 3 injections in the same site in a years time. even my pain clinic refused to the the last injection a doctor ordered and almost didn't do the 2nd one. yeah, i wonder what they've done to me. of course they didn't do anything for my pain longer than 8 hours. the tens machine frickin hurts my back so i have it for nothing..doesn't hurt anywhere except those si joints where i need it. i used to have very low blood sugar that was hard for me to keep normal even after eating...i wonder if i need to get my little strips again and start monitoring it again just to make sure that hasn't become an issue.

I would check your blood sugar often cause these injections will cause diabetes. I have no diabetes in my family and I got it when I was at 160 lbs and Im 5'10 I had a six pack of abs also. At that time not anymore. My blood pressure went out of wach as well.

no bc i tend to run low usually. even when i was being medicated for tachycardia i was unable to use they beta blockers bc no matter how low the affective dosage my BP would bottom out and I would go down to the floor. i normally have lower bp..but when i have to move and get out of the house for doctor apts then the pain flares up and and the bp goes up. as long as i keep moving to a minimal my bp stays normal for me.

Hi Heather. I'm new here and am trying to make a comment about your shins. I have PN, without an official dx as to type, but have had shin PAIN and from time to time numbness. I can relate to what you say about it feeling like they aren't your legs. Anyway, the pain part of my syndrome feels like shin splints. Of course I worried - did I have bone cancer or something equally horrible? My GP blamed it on arthritis (why do they do that?), my shoe salesman said I was tying my orthopedic type sport shoes too tight, and my chiropractor said I probably had anterior tibulitis (sp) (referring to the muscle that goes up the front of the shin). All wrong...I started neuro testing in Jan. 2012. Had full spinal MRIs. Then I fell and fractured my sacrum and wound up with 2 more MRIs of that area of my back. Breaking a portion of my back put me on a fast track from neuro to ortho to pain clinic. I had severe inflamation of the S-1 and L-5 nerves only made worse with the fractures. I know you were pleading for help about numbness, but I had to throw this info your way. I had 3 epidurals and the pain and numbness was GONE, at least for awhile. Can't have any more for a few more months. The shin pain is starting to come back, but not the 9 out of 10 on the 1-10 pain scale. I don't sit down with neuro to talk about the whole PN picture till after the rest of my tests. I don't know if the shin numbness and severe pain (usually the pain) is part of the PN, but at least I have an answer. Again, I did not take time to read the thread, so I may not be offering anything new....Wishing you well. Bev Smile
