Does anyone know if Parkinsons and Bipolar are related? My parents both have Parkinson, my grandmother had it and we think my grandfather but he was never actually diagnoised with it. Now my daughter was diagnoised with Bipolar. They told my daughter that Bipolar runs in families but I don't know of anyone else that has been diagnoised with it. I know Parkinsons can cause depression and I wondered if there may be a connection there.

Hmm . . . that's very interesting. Of course, I have no idea, so I'll be interested to see what someone with more knowledge has to say on the matter. I suppose it's possible. I DO know that most good neurologists will take very seriously any history of mental illness when trying to determine a diagnosis. I don't know if that works in reverse though. I hope someone else chimes in here!
