This isn't really a question, more like a public venting, so please bear with me.We have just returned exhausted from our annual fundraiser for the Michael J. Fox Foundation.We are also in the hole.My husband is a professional opera singer with PD who now dedicates his talents to helping others.This year we even put ads in the local paper which cost a fortune, spent $800 on food, not to mention we have to pay the other performers and the pianist for their time and our grand haul was $600.That is it. We had maybe 40 people come.Just what more can we do to raise awareness and gain support other than the flip flop walk (which is a bar crawl and everyone is so drunk by the time it's over they forget what cause they're supporting to begin with!)? My husband is so depressed he had to come home and take an extra antidepressant. |
