For the last week or so I have been experiencing some strange numbness, tingling, weakness, and trembling of my left upper thigh and knee area. It feels kind of numb all the time no matter if I'm standing, sitting, walking, etc. All the other symptoms come into play when standing or walking. Its from about the middle of my thigh to a little below the knee. I called my neurologist, leaving a message with her assistant who called me back rather quickly and insisted that I come see the doctor on Friday! My appointments at 10:15 am. Whoopee!

Just wondered if anyone else has had a similar experience?

Jane

Jane, I get some of those symptoms when my blood pressure drops too low (insufficient oxygen). Another cause of it could be a pinched or damaged nerve.

Jane, that's a good link. I don't remember posting it before so I'll go ahead and put it under

"Medicine and Treatments".

Good luck!

Well, my leg symptoms persist, I saw the neurologist a couple of weeks ago and she scheduled an MRI and an EMG and nerve conductivity test. Yesterday I had the tests. During the MRI I moved a little too much and they had to repeat the second part twice. It's hard to keep from moving when your Parkinson's meds are wearing off. Any way after the MRI we went straight to the neurologists office for the other testing.

When the neurologist entered the room she asked me why I was there and why were we doing this testing and who ordered it? I just looked at her and after a few minutes of comprehension I said, "I don't know why I'm doing the tests, maybe it's because I'm having numbness and tingling in m left leg". She had ordered all the testing. She nodded and prepared for the test. She is not a good tester. During the EMG she could not find the muscles with the needles and I ended up with bloody legs and a confused diagnosis of something in between really bad and not so bad problem with my lower back. She said she would send her report to my doctor.

I am just so confused and angry. Why can't I find a doctor who cares.

I continue to be in pain, my leg not working properly and the fear that I may get up one time and fall flat on my face because my leg will not support me.

I feel so lost, frustrated and unhappy!

I had those EMGs done on my arm. OUCH! Unfortunately, the tech didn't care about anything except getting finished with it.

I was talking to someone that has PD, the other day. She told me to go see a Movement Specialist, rather then a Neurologist. She says they R more informative!! I think its worth a try..

fungirl,

Thanks for the info. I have seen many, many specialist over the past 3 years and have recieved a lot of advice. At this point I wouldn't care what kind of doctor they were as long as they truely wanted to know me and my diseases. I am so very tired of educating all my doctors about all my diseases.
