You're not weak... you just want him to live in a clean place is all!

And yes, it does help to hear that my kid is NOT the only one who does this. Has anyone ever read about this part of BP behavior? I don't think I have...

I filled out a survey for parents of BP children and one of the questions was something like "does your child ever hide/hoard food"

Well when my daughter was quite young, maybe 3-4?- she hid a piece of fried chicken in one of her shoes!

I wouldn't do to have any more dressers -- nothing ever ends up actually IN them! It's all scattered all over everywhere else!

And yes -- sometimes when she's transitioning between mania and depression, she'll insist on being with me constantly, so that means sleeping as well. I end up with all kinds of her stuff on my dresser, which she manages to ignore until I practically throw it at her.

So today's getting the kitchen cleaned up isn't happening. I refuse to cook until it's taken care of, so I guess it's sandwiches again... or left-overs. Supposedly there's "no food in this house" -- it's just that the food that I have needs to be prepared and there are no clean spaces to work on. Gotta love bipolar logic!

This is why my younger daughter didn't come home for a week at the beginning of July. The house was THAT BAD! It was my older daughter that freaked out over it though, which I guess is a good sign. Unfortunately, I had to referee the angry phone calls between Kentucky and Virginia while I was visiting my 84 year old mom in Florida. It led to a lot of hurt feelings and unhappiness all the way around.

Question: Why doesn't she care that the mess upsets ME? (I know -- there's no good answer for that. I just wanted to toss it out there because I ask myself that constantly.)
