MDJunction to me

fluffyluggage"I found MDJunction at a time when I was struggling with so much. I
was so sick. I found a home, a place where people understood me, when
even my family doubted me. In MDJ, I found a place of refuge, love,
and support. I come here daily, to find my balance, to cope, and to
find that same support I've found from day 1. MDJ is my new family.
The friends I've made here will remain with me for a lifetime.

Hello. My name is Julie and I have a 9y/r old son who had been diagnosed with Global Delays at age 20 months with a hard diagnosis of Autism spectrum, high functioning Asperger's, at age 5. He has also been diagnosed with ADHD, OCD and depressive and anxiety disorders.

2 years ago we had 6 hours worth of testing by a Neuro-psychologist that confirmed the Asperger's and labeled his other symptoms as OCD and the other disorders.

Same doctor two years later, performed same battery of tests and is concerned that he may be showing symptoms of Bi-polar. The doctor did state that he does not like to label children so young as Bi-polar plus the fact that he does have the Asperger's which creates an overlap of symptoms.

The Neuro-psychologist has just said follow up with our sons psychiatrist.

My question is...Who is best qualified to diagnose bi-polar disorder in children? Developmental pediatrician or Psychiatrist or is there another type of Specialist? Thank you
