I have been manipulated so many times by my 16 yr old son that I can't help to retaliate at least once in a while.

I was in a desparate search for nail clippers a couple days ago and I know my son had them in his bedroom. He seems to hoard things like that. So I went into his room (which kinda grosses me out) and I started snooping.

I found a piece of "manipulation" that my son has ready for me. It comes in the form of a trial size Irish Spring body wash bottle. I picked it up and gave it a good shake. It seemed a little too watery to me. So I opened the top and took a deep whiff. After I regained consciousness and my eyes refocused I knew I recognized the smellSmile. It was days old urine!

I believe he is saving it for a future drug test that we will be giving him. I believe my son is thinking that he will use it when we aren't looking (which rarely happens).

I had mentioned this to someone in my family and she recommended that I dump the bottle and refill it with water. Great idea!

So I dump the urine and refilled it with red Gatorade.

I'm hoping my husband has time to test him today.

Stay tuned for the results!

Do I feel bad? I should. I don't like being tricky like this at all. But sometimes you gotta fight fire with fire! Devil

Jbsmom, I know this is really not funny, but the way your wrote it made me laugh. I hope you did not take too big of a whiff! I like the fact that you have caught this sneaky move and you are about to stomp on in like a bug. Keep us updated on the outcome and I think the red gatorade is the best thing I have ever heard. Let's see how he likes this... Can't wait to hear.
At the end the only thing that matters is who you love and who loves you. Kindness is very powerful.

jbsmom: Why on earth would you feel guilty? You thwarted an attempt to be subversive. You are the bomb!

Update: I stayed up late last night with drug test in hand waiting for my son to come home. His curfew is midnight so I camped out on the couch. Midnight came and went, 1:00 came and went and so did 2:00. Okay...I can't stay up that long. I have to work in the morning.

He never came home last night and he stole $20.00 from my husband's wallet yesterday as well.

He has an in-home therapy appointment today at 4:00 today. Don't know if he will be home or not. My husband works 2nd shift today so he hopes my son will come home and he will make him pee.

I should have called the cops when he didn't come home. You just get tired of it. Because it will happen again and again and again and probably numerous times after that!

To recap, we haven't been able to test him yet. We will when we see him in the physical state!
