My 5yr BP grand D is on Abilify and has been for almost a year . It has been a godsend for her. One side effect she developed is Akathisia (restlessness) and is taking Intuniv for that. We had tried so many meds and this combo has been the one that works for now. Abilify has also stopped the weight gain she had with other Anti psycs she had taken Best of luck to you

My 5 yr old is on Abilify. He is currently in a treatment center...the hardest thing i ever had to do...but they had to up his Abilify and chaneg his ADHD med. He was on Vyvanse, but they think it was making him more aggitated, so they changed it to Focalin. He has been in the center for 4 days, and i hope to have him home soon!

I'm so sorry to hear about your "little ones" with this illness. I have enough trouble letting go of my teenager. Peaches, I hope your little one is home with you soon! I'll be thinking of all of you. Post whenever you get a chance to update us, vent, ask questions, or just have a shoulder to lean on. <HUGS> to you all.

I stole this from someone else in one of these forums - but it fits! ;)

I am the mother of a 21 year old BP daughter (whom at the moment, I say is "in remission" with the help of Lithium, biweekly therapy for 4.5 years, and an intensive outpatient course of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).)
