My almost 22 year old daughter started using drugs when she was 15. At 20 she started using Oxy and quickly progressed to IV use.. She has had 3 inpatient treatments and one outpatient. She was clean for 6 months and just relapsed , but is trying to pull it back together..

5 months ago, we found out that she has Hep C. She went into liver failure from birth control pills and the Hep C got diagnosed, though was not the reason for the failure.. She has recovered from that.. Liver enzymes are normal.. But, what a blow to have this on her plate now!!

I have not been active in any support groups. I don't have a lot of time, and for some reason, they have not been all that great for me.I went to some for parents and I was always the only single person there..

I don't need to tell anybody here what I have been through. It is hell and it has been easy for me to feel my life is ruined forever, at times. It is like you have to be unnaturally detached to live with this.

I was so happy to find this forum! As you can see, I am in despertate need for support.

Thanks!!

A Maslow

AMaslow, Welcome to the group. I joined in November and it has been a lifesaver for me. I isolated myself from everything but work and family because I was such a wreck. You will find much support here. The people in this group are wonderful, loving, and caring people that are on similar journeys. Prayers are being sent for you and your daughter. Pam

AMaslow, Welcome, I am new to site as well. My son is 16yr and same situation started snorting "roxys" sometime last year when he was 15. Everyone here is encouraging and non-judgemental. I too went to parent groups as a divorced Mom and it feels uncomfortable. Sharing your feelings on this site does help.
