Hi, I too am a single mum with a six year old, I have a four year old as well. I understand what your going through. Its tough enough work being a single parent without having bipolar issues thrown in as well!! I take each day as it comes and try not to get hung up on feeling guilty about things that have occured in the past. Are you on medication? Ive recently started and am having trouble finding something that works for me, but alot of people have found stability on them. Also I see a psychologist, which really helps Smile Do you do something you love thats just for you? A hobby or a sport, for example? Welcome to the group!!

I'm an Advocate

Hi! Welcome to the group, we are glad you have found us! Being a single parent is one of the hardest things that anyone can possibly have to deal with, but when you throw in the ups and downs of Bipolar it becomes nearly impossible. Taking time for yourself is very important, I try to do something for myself when my kids are in school because that's really the only break I get. Do you have any family or friends that can help you out when you are feeling overwhelmed?
I am not a professional, any and all advice that I give is based solely on personal experiences and is not intended to take the place of a medical or mental health professional.

Thanks so much for the replys. I do have a wonderfully supportive family, and right now I am not working so I am trying to take some time for myself during the day, but I have so emotionally overwhelmed as well as over whelmed with just life its hard to get enough energy going to do something that you even enjoy doing. I was just started on lamatical, and prozac, been on wellbutrin. Feeling slightly better, but still on low doses and having to take it day be day. hoping I will be much more stable in the future, just having a hard time coping somedays. I do see a pyschologist weekly as well.
