Hi, I'm new to the forum. I have an eight year old step daughter. Her mom found a shirt wadded up under her bed and in the shirt was feces. When she asked her daughter about it, she said that she didn't do it. She also has tantrums and lies quiet often. The feces situation has really upset my daughter-in-law. Does anyone have feedback on this topic?

Hi Dixie,

I'm Jenna and I can totally relate to your story - only I was the Mom... My daughter did the same only from 5 all the way through to 10...denied it, hid it, was ashamed, the whole thing. We went the whole gammut from blaming divorce to psych drs to gastro drs. Please see my posts on impacted colon! She had a severe impaction problem and it was brought on my an emotional trauma (divorce) but then she held it because it hurt to go. That only made matters worse for her. See my other post thread on this - there is so much to tell - we eventually fixed her problem easily, without the drs stool softeners and advice that did not work. She has been FINE now for 6 months - no accidents, no hiding accidents - and SO much happier!! =) see my profile to email me directly if you like - no child should suffer like that - and we as parents struggle to understand and solve the problem and go from understanding to losing patience, believe me - I have been there and I do know what you may be going through!

Hugs,

Jenna
