AAAAHHHHH!!!! I am going crazy! I am training my son and daughter at the same time. He wants to sit and she wants to stand! What a mess. Ive been through this 4 times before but not 2 at a time.

My older boys would aim for cheerios that I would put in the toilet. Sink the cheerio game. My older daughter was almost 4 before she was trained. She would hide behind the couch and go in her undies after sitting on the potty for a long time!

Anyone have any helpful hints? Chris

Hi Chris,

I work at an adult day care center, most of the participants are elderly (they come spend the day with us while their families are at work, and then go home with their families at night), one of the participants was giving me advice on potty training my twins and he told me about putting cheerios in the toilet to help with potty training my son, (you said that your older boys did that, have you tried it with your younger son). My son is potty trained & my daughter does good during the day but I still have her wear pull-ups at night. Its late I better go to bed. Bye for now

Sonia

Yeah, Ive done the cheerio's with him. He does well with #1 just not going #2. He'd rather hide and go in his pants..... modesty? My daughter hs no interest at all. She just sits there.

They were born premie. I wonder if that has anything to do with it? My other kids were not this difficult.

Thanks for the reply. Looking forward to getting to know you!

Are they wearing pull-ups? That can actually hinder them from training, as opposed to wearing cloth trainers or undies of some sort. Being preemies may have something to do with it, but I don't know.

Between my own kids and my daycare kids - I've always used cloth trainers and a potty timer. I set the timer for how long I think they need to go again, then when the timer goes off, it's "pee-pee time!" Usually they end up going, but we do have lots of accidents too. I also have a potty that sets on the adult toilet, and one that's on the floor. We go potty in groups, and I let them decide which potty they want to use.

Hope that helps!

Thank you!!!!! I have both undies and potty pants. They were doing well and just stopped for a bit. Now they have been going again!! I will try to keep them out of pull-ups. I think that it has to do with my poor health and not having as much patients as I did with the older ones. It has been a struggle for all of us!!

Thanks for the advice! Your Friend,Chris
