I have tried to communicate with a couple people from the groups that I am in as well as posting to the groups and I am not getting any feedback. I am thinking perhaps people are just not coming to the site? I love to chat with people who are going through similar things as we are and also we have been through many ups and downs in life so I might be able to offer some support to someone who finds themself in a difficult situation. Raising Heather has been like a rollercoaster.

Hope to hear from some of you soon.

I don't know about you but when Heather is out of the house I worry if she is OK. There are a few people that she spends time with that I know all is good but other than that I worry. If she is grounded it is actually an enjoyable time because I don't have to worry. She is over at her boyfriend's today.

I worry too when Melanie is out of the house, there are certain friends i know she hangs with i know do drugs marjuana and drink alcohol i havea feeling my daughter is doing it too, she keeps wanting to 'sleep over' at some of these friends places, this bothers me, most times we say no but just the other night we let her, we know the mother of thisw friend. Now its 2nd night and she wants to sleep out again! Tough love i need to say 'no' but she's arguing with me, 'why not i don't have school' she's leaving for a 3 days vacation with my sister Thurs, this week so she thinks its ok to sleep out b/c she won't see her friends for 3 days, idk, my hubby is out of the house he's gong to my cottage for the night to do some plumbing, i'm going to phone him see what he thinks,

I totally understand what you are saying. I often say "Why is it never enough?" We usually only let Heather sleep out one night at a time and not very often either. She doesn't get much sleep when she sleeps over someone's house or vice versa and two nights of that makes her totally impossible to deal with. One night makes her difficult, two nights makes her a bear. She definitely needs her sleep.

You have a cottage? That sounds quite interesting. Where do you live again? We are in Pennsylvania.

I can totally relate to this 'two nights in a row' sleeping out, forget it my daughter too is a mess sleeping out one night they just don't know better to get a good night sleep. Thats why i said "no" to her to sleep out again tonight, she went over to this girlfriends house she was having some friends over, i told her she had to be home by 11 pm.

I live in the city of Ottawa, in the province of Ontario the country of Canada, i am about a 45 minute drive to the New York border to the USA.

I definitely think you made the right decision with regards to your daughter not sleeping out a second night. I know when I was young I didn't sleep much when I slept over someone's house. However, I could come home and take a nap. Heather hardly ever takes naps during the day. If she is asleep during the day she is usually sick. Heather is going to get her tonsils and perhaps adnoids or something out. The ENT we usually deal with is referring her to an ENT at Saint Christopher's Hospital which is a pediatric hospital. I reminded him she is 16 and he said that he sent his son who is like 5' 10" and 165 pounds so the size of a full grown man to this ENT when he needed his tonsils out. So we meet with them on July 5th and will then find out when surgery will be. Once again THANK GOD FOR JOE because he will be taking care of her. She is such a whimp I have a feeling this is going to be horrible.

If you want to email me directly my email is OLGREUNION@COMCAST.NET.

Take care.

My daughter ended up going to this friends house there were around 7 people there she came home at 11pm took the bus with a male friend, she said it was boring and that she was glad she did not sleep there.

My son when he was 4 had his anoids and tonsils taken out, it was a day surgery (went in early morning had to fast then left shortly after surgery) poor guy he was sore after, i wish you all the best for your daughter going thru this same proceedure. Its hard on us as a parent to watch our kids go thru this.
