My son is 3 and is day time potty trained but I can not get him to wake up and go to the bathroom at night. He did good for 2 weeks or so and then he is back to peeing the bed. I refuse to take his bedtime water away from him because he has always had a bedtime drink. I have given him less water, he gets about 3-6 ounces. It's usually early morning that he has to go. I don't want to have to set an alarm just so I can get up to take him to the bathroom at 4 am. What can I do?...

I had the same problem with my son. He is 3 and I learned to use the naughty chair or naughty corner. Make it the same chair every time, set a timer for the age that they are and make them sit there. If it takes you a half hour to make them sit for three minutes then that's what you have to do. You have to show your children who is the boss. The naughty stair might work too, jut not for me. I learned this from watching a few episodes of Super Nanny. She makes really good points in her shows. Goo...

Hi,

I’ve been on MDJ for a couple of years now come February. I’m currently a member of 20 groups and throughout that time I’ve noticed that many people homeschool their kids. There’s mention of it in many of the groups I frequent. Homeschooling can be terrifying to start and very rewarding, as well as draining. I invite you to come to the Homeschooling group and check it out ( http://www.mdjunction.com/homeschooling ). Support is a wonderful thing when you’re starting something you’ve...

This is my third time trying to post this.

I don't have any advice. I can just tell you that I worked with a boy who had this exact issue. He also was 5, had just started school, didn't like to be changed and said he couldn't feel it.

I'm sorry that I don't know how his mother was able to help him with it, but I just wanted to let you know that you aren't alone. Hang in there *hug*...

It sounds like your son is doing great and you work hard to educate him at home. Good job! These early years at school are really geared to develop the child's social skills more than academics. Being emotionally ready for school is so important for their success in later years. Maybe if you feel your child is ready and still bored you could look into a gifted program....

and another (not related) topic...Two weeks ago we added to the (now available on chrome too) the Groupon application that shows you the hottest daily deals in your town, every day. We received great feedback from the people using the toolbar so I suggest trying it out!!!

I have two children. My daughter is eight and has been an extremely difficult child since she was 22 months. My son is four. He's a very sweet, mostly mellow child. Very different from his sister, especially when he's not around her.

We found out in January that he is legally blind in his right eye. This may be fixable, but we're not sure. He's got a very strong prescription and we patch his good eye two hours each day. His follow up to check for progress is in a couple of weeks. Unfortunatel...
