When my twin sons came home from the hospital, they were both on different formulas and different medications. Of course, their feeding schedules were different and the times, of the day, that their medications were to be given were different.

Now, I am sure that most anyone out there would say "just color code each of the boys".

Yep, that is just what we did. One son always had blue and one had green. After they were off of their medications and were put on milk (at a year old) they would not let us give them just any color. They had already figured out that one was blue and one was green.

Thankfully, they have grown out of that (for the most part).

Now, why would I be posting something that anybody else would have figured out and done under these circumstances?

Well, because I am here to say that you need to buy enough of the color coded items that you can make it through the day.

For example, we had enough bottles that 1 or 2 would be in the wash and the rest were clean and available for me to mix a batch of formula up and fill them (once mixed it lasts for 24 hours so I would mix a batch that would cover that time frame).

At the height of feeding times, the twins were eating every 1 1/2 - 2 hours. That means that we had 12-13 bottles for each of them.

Bottles are expensive (or can be) but, always remember that there are manufacturers who will either give you coupons or send free items to you because you have multiples. Take advantage of their help and always get things on sale. It is the only way that you will not send yourself in to a "red" hole (expenses).
