I am thrilled to find this support group, but I can seem to locate other individuals in this group. My husband was diagnosed this year with Parathyroid Carcinoma. He had a tumor in his neck. He had surgery within a week of finding the mass. The doctors were uncertain of the cause or if this was a true diagnosis. His PTH was about 600 & his calicum was 15. He had no previous broken bones, he did have some kidney stones in the past along with fatigue & depression. They believe with the surgery - removing the tumor & along with 2 parathyroids affected & 1/2 his thyroid he was fine. Well immediately following surgery all was okay. But since monitoring his calicum things have changed a bit & only now is on a small dose of thyroid medicine. Any feedback about the outcome. My husband is only 35 years old. But the occurence is so small there really is no research available. |
