I opened a Real-Life Support Group in Beer-Sheva Israel my home town, and it ran for 6 months, but than peopole stopped coming.

Than I had to chase after peopole to show up, and despite advertising everywhere Almost no one joined.

I had as many as 20 peopole intersted and i walked to the other side of beersheva, to convince someone., but in the end only one person showed up.

All the rest were either friends or friends of friends.

We did manage to help one guy who was having a serious amount of trouble.

So I look at that as a success.

But I closed it after I realised I was the only one pulling it along.

It helped with my paranoia talking about the monsters demons and auditory hallucinations I heard, but after a while you get sick and tired of talking abou it.

And I think at that point peopole stopped wanting to come.

I think for my support group needs Ill stick to MDJ its easier, and I dont have to organise it.

Does any-one here have any experince they could share with organinising a support group??

I have no experience starting a support group. I have never even attended a support group for mental health just AA. If you are interested in finding one already established you could call a local mental health care clinic and see if they know of one. As far as the group you started, it sounds like you did everything right. I think that groups are just difficult as far as drop out rates. I would imagine you would always need to recruit new people just to keep it going. Sounds like a lot of work and I commend you on your efforts. Maybe someone else has experience starting and maintaining a group.
Please do not take anything I say as medical advice. I am not a doctor
