Hi Jonnyboyy

The mild antianxiety which is most highly recommended for panic attacks is xanax . It has the shortest half life of the available ones - which include xanax, ativan, vallium, klonopin.

These meds are used for panic only when you have an attack.

If the problem persists - it is common practice to add an anti-depressant which would be for long term use. But these take at least 30 days to come up to speed. Examples are celexa's generic (cheap - been around forever), lexapro (very expensive - latest - lots of samples around).

If you are dealing with a doc who really does not know these meds, I would be - shocked. My family doctors have given these to me when they knew I was have difficulty. The key words to use to explain to the doctor that you are having a problem - are "anxiety and depression".

Hey Jonnyboyy

what country are you located in? The names of the meds may be a bit different.

The citalopram is an SSRI the same as the celexa, and the lexapro.

takes 30 days to work.

you need the equal of xanax to help you get better control over you. And it can be used when needed for sleep problems - just do not abuse it or you will have a problem. Only use it when you have an attack or major problem sleeping. Previous to using it for sleep - you need to try hot milk with a dash of choclate moo to help you relax . And lie down for a half hour before you really want to be asleep and watch the teli or such to help you to unwind and relax - and then go to bed.

Hey Jonny

I have visited London a few times - particularly liked Soho.

CHoclate moo is a syrup of choclate for disolving into milk. You can use powder too. Not too much - do not want to be climbing the walls.

hot milk and choclate have seratonin in them to help relax you.

I am not sure what the exact equivalent to xanax is but the real name of the compound is - alprazolam....write it down for your doctor.

Hey Jonnyboyy

I hope everything goes well for you. You seem to be a fine Lad.

If you have any other questions - feel free to ask away.

We would sure like to have fine people return and help others after they are doing better. There are so many people out there who are having such problems.

It has been really nice working with you.

Big Man Hug, Raoul
