Hello everyone! I am the mom of 3 and grandmom of 1. Spent the last 16 months trying to find depression med that worked. Allergic to 3 SSRI/SNRI's. Ended up as a self-admit, (long story another day) for 6 days. The doc there put me on Desipramine, a tricyclic.

I have better depression resolution on desipramine than I ever felt I had on the SSRI's. That is good because in this last week I have experienced more panic attacks than the usual occasional ones.

I started taking Lyrica for Fibromyalgia, and it is helping with my anxiety and has also helped improve my mood. I take .25-1.0mg prn of Xanax for the panic. Just wish they wouldn't sneak out and get me at such unexpected times. Sometimes I wonder if they have psychiatric service dogs that can sense the onset of an attack-much like the epilepsy service dogs.

Just musing a bit after a frustrating week.

Fluttering by....

My physical goal is to hike and rappell again.

Hello and welcome to the group. It sounds like you're having a really hard time, I'm sorry to hear that. I will pray for things to get better for you. I know how you feel having the panic "sneak out and get you" at unexpected times. Mine do the same thing to me. There's really no rhyme or reason for them. I know how scary it can be and how much it can alter your life. My thoughts are with you & if you need to talk, you've come to the right place.

Sandy

Thank you Sandy,

I am glad to say that things got much better by Monday. My pain was down to a 1 and I am feeling much better. The panic beast has stayed at bay for 2 days. Taking things one day at a time. It has been a long road to this place. My T says I have a story to tell. Maybe someday. Just want to enjoy feeling good.

Becky

Great Becky! Yes, enjoy feeling good. I always try to enjoy it as much as possible since I never know when the panic will come back. I'm so happy for you, I know what a relief it is to feel so much better after suffering for so long.

That's really great news!

Sandy

Glad to hear you are feeling better, too! I know what you mean, those nasty attacks just sneak up and BAM, out of the blue.

I can be fine one minute, then something must have triggered something and I am panicking!! So far so good this week, just one minor event in the car... LOL DH was driving!
