MDJunction to me

jenniferdiva"MDJunction has been just an amazing support for me. The people who are on mdj are so nice! Unlike the many other support sites that I have been on. I have made several friends on mdj who are so supportive and so educated about mental illness. Of course non of us are doctors, but we certainly offer each other hugs, opinions, and advice. I have learned a great deal from my friends on mdjunction. I am also encouraging other people who suffer from mental illness to come on to MDJ. It can be a life line." (jenniferdiva)

Hi Jenifer

What you have described is a very mild description of separation syndrome. You can probably querry it.

Sure- everyone feels better when they are with friends or Loved ones.

But the question is - are you able to function when you are alone?

I hope you will be feeling better real soon.

WHere is Maryborough located relative to London? What does Qld stand for? I was over a few times and stayed in a small hotel near Soho (because that was near the office I was visiting only).

WIshing you a warm fireside .

Raoul

Hi Jen,

I totally know what you're talking 'bout. Maybe you need someone there with you, because the whole panic episode is a scary one. I cant stand being alone through one. I feel best when my hubby's with me, maybe cause I totally trust him. But I'm off to the Doc this afternoon, so I'm going to mention separation syndrome. (What Raoul says makes alot of sense!)

Hey Lina

I did not mean to imply that Jenifer had separation syndrome, only that she should look it up to see how it affects individuals.

Hey Raoul

Well, I think it's great that you've mentioned it. I think that there's a huge chance I might be suffering from something like it. So at least now I can querry it. You've helped someone else, not even knowing it - u see. Thanks for this.

Hello Raoul

Thank for your message. where i live is in Australia and QLD stands for Queensland, my appologies for this. I do not know what separation syndrom is?? I have always been on my own to an extent and if i have an attack and i cannot find someone to be with me...the panic gets worse, however i have had them when i have been out and with people so dont know it the two go together if you know what i mean. but if i get to see anyone i will mentioned it and see. i have phobias about Dr's and have a panic attack if i need to go see one... strange am i not ha ha. i can take my son..and can voice my thoughts and things relating to his illness etc..but mine is different.. i feel claustrophobic when i am in an ambulance and just want to get out..it is so besar. i am so glad to have found this site and relate to people who can understand.

Hello Lina and Raoul

Thank for your messages, I do appreciate them. Some People do not know how horrible panic attacks are. How do you and Raoul cope with them when they start...do people have different symptoms with their attacks? i have been having tingling feelings down my face some times..which is a new thing for me. i also just want to run away and i cannot relax and have to pace up and down

hope you both are having a good day

cheers jenefer

Hey Jen & Raoul

When I'm alone, I usually try to wait them out. When I realize I'm going to have one, I start talking myself through it. I tell myself what's happening, not to worry and that it's only my body that's having a panic attack. It's asif I'm there, and helping myself through it. What also helps me, is to try imagine the process of the panic attack that my body is going through. When I'm with someone I trust, I let them do the talking...

I think the tingling feeling is normal, cause I have them too. Sometimes when the panic is very bad, I get a burning sensation over my neck, shoulders and arms. Is this normal?

Hugs, Lina

Hi Jen And Lina

I can relate to both of you. Panic attacks are awful.

There are quite a few threads that discuss the symptoms of panic attacks - try to look some of the recent threads over - it will help you a lot.

Also, on the anxiety support group, a lot of people talk about panic attacks (which are a sub-set of anxiety) . There are also a number of threads on calming techniques for panic and anxiety (closely related). You would both benefit a lot from looking at the recent threads in anxiety.

I hope you will both get a whole lot better real soon.

I have not had too many panic attacks very recently - but only because I have been so sick with other problems. But, I am sure that as soon as I am no longer experiencing physical symptoms and have time to worry - I will resume getting lots of panic attacks...

Raoul
