I'm honestly impressed with all the support groups here! I feel right at home on this website. Pretty much, i am a 19 year old girl who suffers from more mental illnesses than anyone should. I get panic attacks frequently. They are usually brought on by a certain situation, usually sitautions involving social distress, embarassment, or stress. Job searching + panic attacks = unemployment.

Welcome to the forum! My first thought on this forum was how much I felt at home too. It's really nice to have other people to talk to who understand. We are all here for you so anytime you need to talk or just vent, post it and you'll get input from us.

What other mental illnesses do you suffer from?

Sandy

Wow, all of that at 19. You sure have your hands full. You must be a very strong person. You're right about the job searching & panic attacks. I don't know what I would do if I had to be out looking. I've had my job for 10 years, but I dread the thought of having to get out there & look with my panic.

Are symptoms of your other illnesses difficult to deal with?

Of course they are. They affect anything and everything. I can't even think of what i can say about it. They all jump off of each other. I'm paranoid about getting into a freak accident, so then i obsess over doing rituals so i can control my own fate, even though, part of me is telling me that I'm ridiculous. I hallucinate things (visual and auditory), which cause me to be paranoid again, and the cycle goes on, in all different directions. I can't sustain a healthy relationship, because no one can handle me. I believe i am strong, but i can only take so much. I try to live by the motto "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger". this is true in my case, i guess.

Thank you for caring, its honestly refreshing.

Amanda, I too do the same. I constantly am afraid of being in a car accident. During the longer trips, I get so panicked I cannot wait to get out the of the car. Then I also have done repetitive things, like in my own way starting over, I made it, ok now next time try to get in the car without fear, it IS a vicious cycle.
