This was a GREAT Idea jojo Phil thanks for answering it I am sorry you just had a panic attack last week KISSES!!

1. My panic attacks started in March of this year(depression for about 13 years)

2. My last panic attack as about three weeks ago

3. I was on my morotcycle so I had to pull over, and then started my belly breathing, saying my mantra over and over in my head while out loud I told myself what was going on IE- your heart is racing because of the relase of adren. in your body you are sweating because you flight or fight has taken over ect... I meditate in my mind if I am out of my home in my home I put cold compress on my neck and use some guided meditation...

4. My attacks the REAL panic part started lasting about 10-20mins at a time about one every few hours, now I am down to about 10min MAX and about every two or three weeks now.

5. Yes somethings and places that make me have MAJOR AA (ant. anxiety) is places like walmart and sams club LARGE stores when i am alone, I HATE the smell of things burning cigs, pot ect... if I am talked to alot during a panic attack makes them worse, and a few others lol..

oh I am sorry mommy you need someone to talk to after your attack a few ago i am on I am here if you need someone I know the anxiety after one can be ROUGH! I know its HARD to breath but deep belly breaths and SLOWER out breaths help ALOT once you do them enough but you have to do it even when you are not in a attack..... and that sounds about right for a panic attack use them to pratice your breathing, mantra, ect its HARD I know but so worth the effort once you get into the groove, I FINALLY got it so I can breath through it ! I am here if you need to talk

OK sorry to mess up the flow NEXT person lol

1. How long have you been having panic attacks (roughly i.e months, years, days ect...)?

My first diagnosed one was at 15 so 11 years. I think I remember having a few before that, which I would think were other things.

2. When was your last panic attack (estimate if needed)?

I had a minor one last night when I started having a migraine.

3. What do you usually do when you have a panic attack to help?

Relaxation session, distraction, sometimes take a benzo.

4. How long do your attacks usually last?

Typically between 20-40 minutes, but they have ranged from 15 minutes to 2 hours.

5. Do you have certain people, places or things that can trigger a panic attack?

Intense conversations, certain stores with bright lighting, some smells (especially ones that trigger flash backs to sexual assault), certain men that remind me of the men who sexually assaulted me, certain music that reminds me of the night I was sexually assaulted, getting food lodged in my throat, oh I'm sure there are more that I could think of but that is a pretty good list. Thought of another just now. I was at the grocery store and the lady in front of me had an expired coupon which no one could seem to figure out why it wasn't working. So lines and hold ups! Migraines, aches and pains.

1. How long have you been having panic attacks (roughly i.e months, years, days ect...)? about 14 years since my teens.

2. When was your last panic attack (estimate if needed)? last Saturday was my last memorable one.

3. What do you usually do when you have a panic attack to help? breathing, Klonopin, and crying like somewhat said above helps to let it out. If it happens at home, I put on the game show network. I actually find that watching game shows distracts me and lets my brain concentrate on something else. Most of my attacks up until recently were agoraphobia induced like in grocery stores, being far from home, etc. Then, I would just leave the provoking situation to bring down the attack.

4. How long do your attacks usually last? If its situationally induced which most of mine are, I leave the store, or come right back home so probably no more than 10 minutes. I don't let my attacks go on for too long when I'm at home. I take a sedative the minute I know I'm going to panic and wait for it to work...so maybe 1/2 hour at most it will last? If I don't take meds, I fear they could go on for hours.

5. Do you have certain people, places or things that can trigger a panic attack? Grocery stores are my worst enemy, drive-through's, traffic lights, driving greater than 10 miles from home alone, or sometimes even being by myself at home.

Julanne

Diagnosis: Panic Disorder with Agoraphobia, Mild Depression.

Paxil 12.5mg once a day

Almost exactly a year.

3. What do you usually do when you have a panic attack to help?

Take a hot shower.

4. How long do your attacks usually last?

Usually my own thoughts about illness and my body's normal aches and pains are what get me going...
