I guess this is a bad time, what with X-mas looming and all, I guess nobody is here. I think I'm going home and drink this away, I can't stand this.

Hey Hart

we are herre for you.

I see you found the intro FORUM.

Go to the meds and treatments FORUM (top line menu) and read and practice the breathing and calming exercises. They will help you.

If that is not sufficient - contact your pcp and mention the key words - "anxiety and depression" and mention that your support group recommended xanax to help when you have an attack (do not use otherwise).

Feel free to post more.

You are welcome here.

Raoul

Thanx, I'm home now and I'm going to get a few beers under my belt and ride it out. My hubby's outside if I get real bad. I did look at the coping mechanisms which make a lot of sense until I'm in a PA Wink

Hey Hart, is good to talk about your panic attacks, it really helps, but you need to talk about it with a doctor as soon as possible, this situation is way more common than it seems, everyone here is gonna be willing to talk about them, but you need professional assistance, having a professional to help you is gonna make a lot of the anxiety go away because you know you have someone to rely on, in case you have a really strong one, in my case when it happens i know how to put them under control myself, but to know that i can call the doc makes me feel relaxed. Good luck!!

(((Sposito)))

I have, in the past, talked to doctors and been prescribed something that during the worst of it, basically knocks me out.

What irritates me the most is I don't know what triggers them. In the past, I knew exactly WHY I was experiencing them, what event(s) precipitated them.

The last few months they just come on when I'm not particularly stressed, I was at work, doing as easy a task as I have and they came up. WHY?

Thank you for responding.

Hi Hart,

I understand how you feel. I suffer panic attacks as well. It is terrible how they run your life and I guess what is worse is that we let them.

Do you do any relaxation techiques?

I have found them to be helpful.

I am also on medication but this does not stop them completely.

If you ever need to talk just message me if I am on I will help you through it.

(((Rare))))

Thank you. I called my doctor's office, they said to keep on the webrutin (sic) for at least another week. So I'll just have to tough it out. One today and tommorow to go, then off until Monday, so that should help. Thanx for responding.
