Drugs deffinatly dont help the problem, thats why I have anxiety in the first place is because of medication abuse! I havent been diagnosed with anything. I have been trying to tell my doctor how bad it is, she is trying to go the healthy way instead of perscribing me MEDS but it isnt working. I am also struggling with depression, I might also have postpartum depression. I was wondering if you know weather or not headaches and dizziness can be associated with anxiety?

Hi Hailee, Yes anxiety can cause headaches and dizziness.....but so can many other things. Stress and depression can cause that to....which then causes anxiety! It is part of the cycle.

You said you had medication abuse? Had you abused them in the past? If so, what meds did you abuse? What types of healthy things has your doctor tried?

I hope that feel better soon,Chris

I hate the cycle so very much! Once your caught in it its hard to leave.

Well in highschool I abused my ADD medication known as Dexadrine (sp?) its a methamphetamine and when its sniffed gives you this great high... sort of like a speed. When you do it you dont sleep or eat, so I was sniffing that and drinking all the time while I was on Prozac aswell. I wasnt eating or sleeping for periods of days, and then one day my body had enough. Me and some friends smoked a bunch of oil and marijuana and I ended up have a slight seizure, I am thinking its from driking on the prozac and barley eating. My body was pretty much telling me it was going to shut down if I didnt stop what I was doing. Everytime after that if I smoked dope or w.e I would have a severe panic attack so I quit using drugs. Eventually I just became paranoid and had to drop out of school because being in a class gave me severe panic attacks. But anyways lol instead of me carrying on about my life I will answer your last question.

My doctor doesnt want me to use MEDS she wants me to eat right and excersise and whatnot. Then if that approach doesnt work we will discuss going the medicated way. Thanx for listening... I hope you are doing well also, Hailee.

You are welome. I like to help if I can, sometimes all we need is for someone to understand!

Drugs seem to have that effect on alot of people. Making them anxious. I never really smoked marijuana much....I was busy drinking and pot made me sick!

I hope that you are able to find a healthy way to deal with your anxiety. If you have to go on medications, please make sure you're honest with yourself and the doctor. I makes it easier to not abuse them. I'm a recovering addict and take alot of narcotic pain medication. I have a plan with my doctor and know when I feel like I might start to misuse them. I have to be very careful. I don't ever want to go back to the addicted way of life. I sounds as if you have talked to the doctor about this.....good for you!

I agree about the cycle! I don't like being in it either. It has gotten alot better with counseling and I took medications for awhile. I do alot of self-help books too. Like Dr. Phil's books and other healing books to figure out what makes me "tick." I have learned alot.

I hope you have a great day! Talk to you soon, Chris
