Does anyone else have hypersensitivity to subtle bodily sensations. For example: coming down from caffeine, low blood sugar, a phantom headache or earache (unrelated to any real health issue).

My panic attacks have been pretty intense (three days of several hours of attacks) over the last few days. I presently have an ear-infection, which has been causing me to have some slight equilibrium and pressure issues in my head. This has made me panic about all sorts of things; fear of brain hemorrhaging, stroke, tumor, cancer what-have-you. I feel like I'm having slight vertigo issues when I lay down; which is undoubtedly caused by the infection and my over-thinking about the slight discomfort that it is causing. I have had similar issues when I have had sinus infections. Has anyone else ever had this problem before? I'm laying on my couch in the living room. My fiance is sleeping with our dog in the other room. And I'm very panicked.

=[

Help. Me.

I know exactly how you feel, anytime I have any little issue with my body I think it could be some terrifying disease. For me I might think a mole is cancerous, or if I get the flu or a cold I think Im dying. I think this is pretty common for people with panic disorder. I have learned to overcome these kind of fears by saying to myself If its time for me to go than so be it, I'll be going to a better place with no fear anyway. But also to realize that everything is fine that I have overreacted to this sort of thing a million times and I WILL BE FINE, THIS FEAR CANT KILL ME, It's just an ear infection many people have them everyday, things like that. Also keep in mind that you have an ear infection and it has nothing to do with cancer or heart disease, sometimes we just keep building up our fears when our thoughts that produce them are unrealistic. When you find yourself in a full blow panic then its time to make your fear worse. Say to yourself fine if I have cancer or heart disease than so be it. Make your panic attack worse. Make your heartbeat faster. Say OK you son of a bitch lets see what you got. and then is that all you got you can do better than that I told you to scare the hell out of me. It works trust me. I feel for what you are going through I really do and believe me I know how you feel, but this wont last forever you will beat this and be PANIC FREE! If you need to talk Im here. Mik

Thanks Mik. That's what my brother told me he does about his panics. He said, "Bring it on. Let's see what you've got." In the face of what feels like death, however, that is sometimes hard to do! I'm appreciative of your response. Thanks =]

I know its hard believe me I had an episode where I stayed up for 10 days, didnt eat, didnt sleep. Just constant fear. Everytime I would lay down I would have to get back up and pace around my house to keep the panic from rising too high. I know what you are going through but you cant fight it when your in a panic attack, you have to either let it flow through you and say ok lets get this over with or make it worse. Make it worse and it will go away. You do have control over these attacks, I know it is hard but will beat it.

I just went through this about two months back and the good news is the dizziness did pass. I like you felt like I had something going on in my inner ear. The vertigo was pretty intense. Actually about two weeks ago I could have swore I heard something pop inside my head and I wondered if it was an inner ear thing. I also noticed some sinus drainage at the time.

Mine did pass and I haven't really had any dizziness since, you can get through this too! Hang in there.

Summer vacation has started-yahoo!
