Hi,

I woke up at 3:00 am this morning feeling very sick and weak with nausea. I did my household chores and then went upstairs to my bedroom to rest. After 2 hours, my condition did not improve and I decided to write to you all and try to get some answers. I haven't taken my medicines yet, I usually take them at 7:00 am, that is my normal routine. I was feeling great the whole of yesterday. I am in my ninth straight day with zoloft. Prior to this I was on Luvox but after 15 years the medicine just stopped working. My doctor then switched me to zoloft 100mg to be taken once in the morning. My next appointment with my doctor is on Sept 14 and she will not entertain any calls from her patients unless I get checked into ER which I don't want. Can anyone please give me some suggestions on how I should deal with this perplexing situation. Many thanks.

Unfortunately, none of us are doctors and we all respond differently to medications. However, if I was you I would call my pharmacist. That makes me angry that your psychiatrist will not talk to you on the phone. I am not sure what withdrawal is like on the medication either. I took that medication when I was young and did well on it but everyone is different. Can you call to make an emergency visit? That is too long to wait but I would hate for you to go to the ER. However, if it is too bad definitely go to the ER.

To me it seems odd that you would START feeling sick on day nine. Did you have other physical symptoms prior to this?

Please remember that I am NOT a doctor.

I am just thinking out loud.

Could you be sick? Are you vomiting? Are there other symptoms?

I am very worried about you.

Please keep us updated.

Maybe others with post with other ideas.

Wow, your off one med and started a new one and you won't be seen till Sept? I don't like the sound of that. Can you go to a clinic? Er cost so much. Sad could you being coming down with a stomach bug? If you don't get any relief, go get checked out. Try sipping ginger ale, or poweraide. Soda crackers help with nausea. I hope you feel better soon and able to get some rest. Hugs.

I agree about a walk in clinic or just fire your doctor and get another. Phil is right. That is not normal. I would not keep a doc like that. That is me though. Side effects of Zoloft include fatigue and nausea. Call a pharmacist to confirm, but I SUSPECT this is not the drug for you.

Hmm, that's weird. I don't know if it's the Zoloft that's making you feel that way, it could just be a bug or something. Also, your anxiety could be making you feel that way. I know that when I'm really anxious and panicky I feel kind of sick. But that's weird your doctor won't let you see him/her till September. You can't even call? I'd say if things dont get better then maybe go to the doctor. I take just started taking Zoloft, I used to take it a few years ago and I have never had those symptoms, it could be something totally different. I hope you feel better. Best of luck
