Benzodiazepines (sp?) like Valium do not help with depression or unrelated stomach problems. I believe strongly in the mind/body connection though. When I am stressed and very anxious, an upset stomach and head are some of the first things to get set off. An anti-anxiety med may *help* stomach problems that are directly related to the stress/anxiety. Depression/anxiety often go hand in hand. Talk to your pdoc. Smile

I'm new around here and just started the antidepressant lexapro it has CAUSED nausea for me. I hope it passes as my body adjusts to it. I feel pretty good otherwise. Sleepy some yesterday but I've also been off on my sleep pattern the past week or so. My depression is no where near as bad as my panic and anxiety issues. My counselor also thinks I am in beginnings of agoraphobia. Some things ring true for that but I still can leave my house and do.

I'm an Advocate

Lexapro has a long list of POSSIBLE side effects and nausea is one of them.

If not, it's opinion and should be called that. The safety of members is paramount.
