MDJunction to me

ThereseML"When I first came to MDJ, I was in need of peer support in dealing with issues of my childhood abuse. I was moving away from the painful issues and trying to find an uplifting group of people to help me transition to a thriver in my life. I found that here. I also found a group of peers with Fibromyalgia and found the same uplifting experience there. My computer crashed and it was a while before I found my way back, this time with issues related to Parkinson's Disease. I had tried a few other support sites before reminding myself of MDJ. On those, I never got a reply. I finally found my way back here and again found very supportive, caring and inspiring people who made me feel like I was 'back home'. Indeed I am." (ThereseML)

I was on Risperdol, and it seemed to keep things in check-but I hd awful bile coming back into my throat, which of course is a trigger for me to have an attack. It constantly felt likeI was trying to swallow over a large ball in my throat. Psychitrist took me off of this, and then put me on the genric form o trilepta which is oxcarbazepine 150mg. It has only been 2 nights on it, but my depression seems to be creeping back in and my anxiety has gone through the roof. I talked myself out of going to the hospital last night for a 2 hour attack, and slept on and off through the night. Woke up anxious as hell. I know there is no magic pill, but I just wanted to hear if anyone had experiece with this drug. Thanks a million

MY opinion only. If the Risperdol was working, I wonder why he didn't just prescribe Omeprazole @ 20 mg morning and night? That's generic Prilosec and it should stop the reflux. You can by it over the counter. I just get the Rx because my insurance makes in cost only $7.00 a month. I have serious concerns about Trileptal.

I have acid reflux and take 20 mg of nexium per day. Apparently my digestive trackcouldnt handle it. I was also drinkng a lot of Gaviscon and taking acid reducers. I was just asking if anyone had experiences with the new drug. I should tell you if you have had a bad personal reaction, maybe dont share with me...My anxiety is bad about taking pills anyway. I guess I need to change my subject line. Sorry

You have nothing to apologize for MichMom. Have you seen a GI?

i had a scope down my throat..thats when they told me i had acid reflux. havent had any issues with heartburn in 10 years, unless i ate likea real pig before going to bed. But when i started the risperdol i was constantly fighting te bile in my throat. even when i was just eating a hard boiled egg or cottage cheese. not to be gross, but when i was taking the risperdol iwould cough and actually bring up bits of bile (like vomit). i would sleep up with 5 pillows under me, and it wouldnt help. 24 hours after stopping the risperdol i dont have anymore heartburn or bile. but the trilepta takes several weeks to get into my system, so i have a fight ahead of me. thanks for your understanding.

Hi MichMom77, my psychiatrist put me on trileptal after I had been on klonopin for over a decade and became tolerant to it. He did it mainly for two reasons. I was having a withdrawal reaction from the klonopin not working anymore so he did it to prevent possible seizures and many of the anticonvulsants like Trileptal are often prescribed off label to anxiety/panic sufferers because they help some people. Neurontin is another big one too that pdocs will often prescribe. The Trileptal did not help very much with my panic and anxiety but it did prevent any seizures during that time in my life. I was on it for about a month if I recall correctly. I have also been on gabitril, lyrica, and neurontin without very much success also.
