Everyone is different when it comes to Meds. It takes at least 6-8 weeks to build up in your system. I haven't ever heard of an anti-depressant working in 13 days. It may take more than 6-8 weeks and it may take less. It depends on the individual.

Fiona, You really need to be patient. There is not a magic pill in life.

I am not saying this to be mean or upset you. But try to do things and allow the Paxil to work if it is going to work.

It may or it may not. Not everyone is the same with Meds and what works for one person may or may not work for someone else.

Try to do a little bit each day and feel better. Smile

Fiona, unfortunately SSRI's like Paxil can make you feel worse before you feel better. Anytime I started an SSRI I felt pretty crummy for quite a few weeks. Be patient and give it time. If the symptoms are quite unbearable though give your doc a call since another med might be needed. Everyone is so different. You will be fine, hang in there! I've been through SSRI start phases many times. I know it stinks, but it will pass. Wishing and hoping you feel better soon Smile

Fiona92, please try not to be your own worse enemy. Been there.

Like Rflattsfan stated, sometimes SSRI's make you feel worse before you feel better. Its because your body is fighting them (adjusting). Once your body stops fighting, that's when they start to work. If it gets unbearable, then you have to say something though.

Don, Rflat, Angel, Frog. They are all correct. Please listen to them. I know it's hard.
