MDJunction to me

Hazeldee"MDJunction means that I no longer have to feel like I am the only person in
the world with pericarditis. It means that I can talk to others who know
how stressful and how painful having pericarditis can be. It means that I
connect with others to discuss treatments that have or haven't worked for us, so that we have a leg to stand on. I think that having my friends at
MDJunction has allowed me to better mentally and emotionally process my
diagnosis and what it means to me. I feel so lucky to have this community
available to me. I use MDJunction as a way to use my experience to help
others. Reaching out to help others is the only solace I have found since
being diagnosed with pericarditis.

Once again my Panic attack has been lasting all day! I absolutely hate this and cant get the thoughts out of my head. My chest is tight, my back between my shoulder blades hurts, my throat feels like its closing up and I keep telling myself I need to go to the ER. I know I dont but I dont know how to control this Sad I haven't taken my Zoloft in two days because once again I'm scared of the side effects, like racing heart! Why does this keep happening to me? I feel so alone :'(

OH Sassy I have been exactly where you are at right now. I understand how miserable it is. The battling in your head does not help either. What to do and how to do it all.

You have to make a decision and things will fall in place from there. If you keep battling whether to take the zoloft or not you will be stuck. I did this same thing 2 years ago.

Please know that you are going to get through this dear.

I am not a doctor although wish I was. LOL All of my comments are strictly my opinion only from my own experiences. I am on no medications at the time but have taken medication in the past. So anything I say about medication is only my opinion from the experiences I have had while on medication. Never stop taking or take medication without talking to your doctor first.

Sassy, I understand how you feel because I was just like you a few years ago. I took me almost a year to take my meds at the right doses. Once I finally did it, I was fine. What I did was waited until I got to work (I work with doctors and nurses). I told a couple of them about my fear of meds and side effects. I took my medications the told them to watch me for any adverse reactions. I gave me much comfort to know I wasn't alone and was being looked after. I know we all don't have that luxery, but if you could figure out something similar, maybe it would help you.

Sassy you are far more supported by friends here than most of us were. That doesn't make it easy, but you are not alone. Taking meds can be frightening, but how is he alternative working for you? Here's a thought for you. Get a book if your read and go to the ER, but do not check in. Sit there as if you are waiting for someone else. Take the full dose of your med. If, after giving it an hour you feel really badly from taking it, then you are right there to check into the ER. Strange idea, but it may be a way for you to go. We all love you and want you to feel better very soon!

Thank you NJ and Kildare! I just took my pill and am sitting at home with my husband. I have asked him to watch me but I know deep down I will be fine. I am a little drowsy and will be heading to bed now. Hopefully tomorrow will be better Smile
