geez. I sympathize with the tons of panic attacks...for some reason (don't care y) mine have eased up for now...are you trying any tools like deep breathing exercises or relaxation techniques?? I know sometimes I get ticked off when ppl. suggest this, but sometimes it does help me.Ermm inderal...i was also on inderal (if that is the bloodpressure medicine) for erratic heart rate and I'm sure that has lead to some of anxiety I feel...I'm on Lopressor now for it. just thought I'd add that tidbit.

Have you tried spashing some cold water on your face or holding a cold cloth on your face and neck? Cold seems to help me alot...cold air, cold water, ect....I'm on metoprolol for my heart rate and it also has a calming effect. deep breathing helps alot. I hope something helps you here..

Oh I sympathize. Been there myself. Took awhile with the docs to get benzos back to use as needed.

Remember they can't last forever. Might suck, but they aren't going to kill you.

Hang in there. Keep us posted.

there are tons of things that you are able to do that can help

breathing

cold water

eat something cold or suck an ice cube ( the cold reflex makes your mind think you are going under water and slows the heart rate)

meditation

yoga

DONT talk about it with people around you saying what you feel only renforces the negitve thoughts that you already have in your mind dont need to HEAR them to make them MORE real

get a mantra a saying to say over and over in your head when you have an attack mine is "be still and know that I am" over and over slow and steady

remember and say to yourself that panic can never really hurt you, as scary as they are the never have hurt anyone in the history of panic attacks

I think that though you cant feel or see it right now your doctor is giving you a blessing by NOT giving you a benzo for your panic , they only are allowed for short term use (though some doc give them for long times the FDA websites states they shouldnt be used for more than 4-6 weeks at a time)

We are here to talk if you need us, best bet is to learn to belly breath, stay calm, remember they always pass and they cant harm you!!

I hope you feel better we do get it here panic can make you feel like death but your not!

Hey er,

I started getting panic attacts a few months ago and wound up in the hospital for 4 days. They ran all kinds of tests and nothing was wrong. That's where I was diagnoised.

When I got home I became proactive and searched the internet, and that's where I came across a post by a woman who had been cured of her panic attacks by reading and practicing the principles in the book " Hope and Help for your nerves" by Clair Weekes. I got a copy, read it and began to practice the principles too and they have all but stopped.

There is also an audio post right here on this web site in the forums by a man who was also cured by practicing the principles in the very same book. Go to the forms tab at the top of the page and then to the medicine and treatment section, and look afew posts down from the top and find "Free downloads that really help". Listen to his story and maybe you too could become better.

It has really worked for me and I feel that I'm well on the road to recovery.
