i generally get that metallic / blood taste in my mouth as the bl. pressure rises and you can taste it.....try talking to your doc....maube the panic in general can be handled with meds....as opposed to not taking anything for a condition like that...Talk to your doc....ask about meds...you could be feeling alot better

Peace Bother.....R

I used to do work in the field of behavior. I am NOT a doctor but am aware of studies where people have been "cured" by breaking the chain of behaviors to terminate the end behavior. As an example, I have seen an actress that couldn't perform anymore due to epilepsy, yet she "learned" to prevent her seizures. She had what is called an "aura" a signal of some sort that the seizure was about to occur. In her case it was an acrid smell. After some experimentation it was found that if she smelled pure jasmine (very strong) it would cover up the "aura" smell she was having. By stopping that "aura" the seizure never occurred. Of course she couldn't go around smelling like that powerful jasmine concentrate all the time so she learned to use imagery and "imagine" the smell of the jasmine when she had the aura occur. It worked! She went back to acting. There are many cases like this in the field of psychobiology where you can break the chain of behaviors to alter the final behavior in that chain. I would be very curious as to the fact that if you ate something VERY strong tasting when you had that funny taste just prior to getting a panic attack, if it would change the outcome somehow.

Sounds like a plan to me too.

Essiar - please do me a favor - please place a copy of your above analysis in the forum - "medicines and treatments" . And preamble your description with an explaination of what it is useful for.

Thank you Essiar - your wisdom and experience will help many others.
