hey, david. first, keep coming back here. this is a great place to talk and share your concerns and be surrounded by love and encouragement. also, there are a ton of people here who have been dealing with this for a long time and can offer up great advice and coping strategies.

breathing really helps. i take in deep breaths through my nose, hold for a few seconds, and then breathe out through my mouth. the deep breathing where your tummy and not your chest is rising.

talking to a therapist can help as well. you can find out what your anxiety is about and find strategies for dealing with that.

i personally like the panic and phobia workbook.

and remind yourself that you are not dying and you are ok. it's a passing experience. i don't know if you've been to a doctor yet. most of us have been because we're so scared something is wrong. and it helps to have the doctor clear you of any underlying problems.

i also find that talking to someone can help a lot. so talk to us. find someone you trust.

and remember that you are ok. you are going to be ok. and you are in a place where we all understand. if you have any symptoms or fears please feel free to share them. nothing is too silly or weird, we've had them all.

welcome to the group.

Hi David! I know how you feel. I agree with what Raven has said. It helps me to do something to get my mind off of it. Changing the focus helps. Other people help too. I go to my husband when I have nightime panic. The people here are really great as well. We are all in the same boat and all care very much. Hang in there!

Hi David

Try a big glass of warmed milk with some choclate moo in the milk - just before bed time.

Both the hot milk and the choclate moo have lots of seratonin in them and they will help you to relax and to sleep.

I used to be scared to go to bed at night because I swore i wasnt going to wake up, or i would hear a car drive down street and id have to look to make sure it didnt stop in front of house and try and hurt me or family. i would be fine, and all of a sudden panic about death and have crazy thoughts, heart racing, knotted stomach, dizziness. i did takemeds for a lil bit, but it made me tired. so i changed my diet and exercised alot. it got better. while i was going through it tho, i would try to rationalize with myself, deep breaths, talk to someone about something random, if noone was around id try and find another focus, at times i couldnt. but i made it through. ive been good for a while and dont have it daily like i used to, but when something i lose control of in life, that i cant control that goes wrong i start to get the anxiety again. good luck, ive been dealng with some lately, and i hate that i cant control it.. hugs
