MDJunction to me

fluffyluggage"I found MDJunction at a time when I was struggling with so much. I
was so sick. I found a home, a place where people understood me, when
even my family doubted me. In MDJ, I found a place of refuge, love,
and support. I come here daily, to find my balance, to cope, and to
find that same support I've found from day 1. MDJ is my new family.
The friends I've made here will remain with me for a lifetime.

Hi not all the time I feel sick just soemtimes. Can panic attacks feel liek your going to get sick like throw up. I occasionally get really cold run to bathroom feel like I have the flu feel like I need to throw up but I dont. Im sweating too, weak and shaky. but other times my panic attacks dont make me feel like im getting the flu. So could it be GERD maybe since the sick feelign mostly comes at night not evry night. I took some pepno one time that seemed to help. Would pepno help stop panic attacks. Im not self diagnosed with myself for panic attacks.

I think they can make you feel sick sometimes. I personally have never felt like I needed to throw up, but a main symptom I get with my panic disorder is my throat feeling tight and it feels weird when I swallow. I know a lot of times you might get a sick or weird feeling and then you dwell on it so then it just seems a ton worse than it actually is. I've gone to the doctor multiple times worrying about my throat and he always finds nothing and lets me know the feeling will go away. He seems to understand my panic symptoms very well, but I like that he doesn't make me feel humiliated because I'm basically making something out of nothing. I'm sure you will be fine and try to do some calming techniques to keep your mind off of feeling sick.

my actual panic attack doesn't usually make me feel sick though i do shake sometimes and feel very weak and on occasion get the sweaty palm thing. i get rushes of adrenaline that feel like rushes of cold. or, at least i think it's adrenaline.

however, my anxiety can get so bad that it makes me feel sick like i want to throw up. and it will make me feel weak. it will feel more like a cold rather than the flu.

i used to make myself throw up everyday. not food but because the anxiety was so bad and i always felt like i had to. nothing would ever really come up but instead of sitting with the feeling i would give in to it and i would generally feel better after. i don't know if that's weird and apologize if that was way too much information. but it was a coping mechanism for me with the anxiety. so, yeah, i would feel like i had to throw up.

man, i'm rambling a lot tonight.

Hi everyone

And welcome Lauri

according to the symptom thread from the net (located under "medicines and treatments" yes nauseau is a symptom of panic attacks: (here is the exact quote)

"

Indigestion, heartburn, constipation and diarrhea

During periods of anxiety the body diverts blood from various parts of the body to the muscle tissues in order to supply them with the oxygen needed by them during the flight or fight response. One of the main areas where blood is used most is around the digestive tract. Blood is sent there to absorb nutrients from the food we eat. As blood is diverted away from the stomach during anxiety, the digestion slows and the muscles around the stomach can become knotted. This can cause indigestion, heartburn and diarrhea or constipation.

"

Again Lauri - welcome to our group and please feel free to look over all of the threads and ask lots of questions -

Raoul

Hey Lauri: Yes! I get sick. When the attack is strong enough (I called them defcon 1) it comes with vomit and diarrhea. I'm not on any kind of medication but I have clonazepam that I take when the attack already start it. Like taking an aspirin for the headache. The thing is when I get nausea I start thinking "If I take my pill, and then throw up... do I take it again?"

When I have panic attacks I usually feel as if I am either suffocating or choking. When I feel like I am choking I usually end up gagging and occasionally even dry heaving...but thankfully I have only vomited once during a bad attack, and that was in an ambulance after I had a possible concussion from fainting. Sick I almost puked in the oxygen mask too, the paramedic must have noticed me gagging, because he removed it just in time.

Sigh...the trauma us panic disorder sufferers go through. Makes me wonder if I will ever be able to have a boyfriend that would be willing to stick around after seeing me have an attack. Sad

I have nausea during a panic attack and also feel the need to go to the toilet, The nausea can last quite a while which can make you feel a bit off.But dont vomit during one.

Every one is different and may be more focused on what they find the most disturbing or unpleasant but they can all be reactions when the bodys under stress.
