I am so tired of going through this. Constantly having to take deep breaths and feeling like I can't breathe. Having my chest feel tight and/or hurt. Is this ever going to end. I feel like I get so cheated out of life because of this. I am afraid to leave the house because I might have a heart attack.

I need a friend so bad and everytime I get one they think I am insane when they hear what I go through.

Sorry to sound so down and negative I just don't know what to do anymore.

I'm sorry for what you're going through, but I'm here to tell you it WILL get better. It may not seem like it right now, but it will. I was in your exact same position, housebound, afraid to leave, but now I live a more normal life. It took a lot of time though.

I will be your friend.

Sandy

Something that's helped me with the breathing in the past is distraction. If distract myself good enough, I don't have to think about my breating anymore, or should I say I don't think about my breathing anymore, it just happens and I feel a little better.

Hi anavette, I'm so sorry your having such a difficult time right now. We are here for you if you need to talk. You can PM me anytime.

There are many different types of treatments for panic disorder and it CAN and WILL get better if you seek treatment. Cognitive-behavioral Therapy helps you recognize and challange your thinking and beliefs that may cause you anxiety. They will teach you coping skills and relaxation techniques. It does work after awhile. The breathing becomes a healthy habit for you and no longer is thought about......you just do it.

I hope that you feel better soon. You''re not alone in this. We are here for you. Your friend, chris

Your Friend, Chris

I know what your saying. A week and a half ago I could not drive, stand, eat, sleep, take care of my kids, breathe, thought I was dying, going crazy, it was insane! I was scared out of my mind! I ended up going to the County mental health because i don't have insurance. I was WAY under dosed on my lexapro, they are slowing bringing me up, They gave me something to sleep that is also an anti-depresant and helps with panic. I am now feeling better although I can have one thought and I feel the panic coming on but I quickly do something else and tell myself whatever I need to tell myself about that thought. I have a lot on my plate right now and things/people who are not making it easy for me so being a mother I have to hold on for dear life and not only take tis medicine but call my mom through out the day for support or to have her talk me out of my anxiety or panic and show me what's real. Definitely the right meds will help and learning what triggers your attacks! I am learning myself!!! You are not alone. We all come on this website to share and to help others with what we might have been through and what helps us. panic attacks are very SCARY! After mine stopped a little then I would get anxious about having another panic attack and that would cause another panic attack. Enjoy the good days, the good moments and I hope your able to see a doctor even if you have to go through the county!

Best wishes
