Oh, don't feel bad, I've Googled that TONS of times. Mainly because my thyroid has actually been wonky over the years. One year it will be at the point where the doc is thinking, okay, there's a bit of a problem here, and then the next year it will be back down again. I seriously had several years in a row where my TSH levels kept climbing, almost to the point we were considering meds. So my doc decides to do a more in-depth thyroid panel, and everything came back normal on that one. Go fig...

LAnneT,

A few months ago, I felt very similar to what you're describing. I also kept my panic under control for a long time (over 10 years) and then it came back worse than ever. Your comment about fearing your condition will affect your children really resonated with me. We know that our children depend on us to be stable and confident in all situations...yet that becomes impossible when we're having a panic attack. I would just tell my son that daddy's not feeling well and sequester myse...

Help...?

Hi LAnneT and welcome. I'm so glad you found us and as you can see there are so many of us that have felt just like you. I remember being in your shoes, being afraid to leave my house, curling up in a ball and just crying my out, begging for help.
You need to find a way to make it to the doctor and make sure he LISTENS to you. Tell him exactly what is going on and how you feel. Medication is probably the answer for you for now until you can feel better enough to deal with panic disorder....

I have a good friend down the street who is a divorced guy who shared with me about his panic attacks when he was younger. He said the first time he esperienced one, he bolted straight out his back door and ran like Forest Gump! He said he would rather have someone cock a pistol to his head than experience a panic attack. HE gets it. Although he doesn't suffer quite as bad, he totally has been helpful to me....

Thank you ladies :). It's funny you say that sweetlilmama, because with my middle child I was the worst. I can't even tell you how many times we went to the doctor when it wasn't really warranted. Me and my husband were unaware what was going on with me at that time. And my hubby I know did it just for me. With my baby girl I'm a little more at ease, but again because we now know what is going on with me, so we always question if I am just over thinking things or if we really need to go. My husb...

And yes Phill I wasn't aware of Electrolytes imbalance causing racing heart either until my Grandma made mention of it. She had told me this a few years back but I forgot about it until now when she mentioned it again. Something about her and my cousin has too many electrolytes r...
