MDJunction to me

"MDJunction to me is a life saver... when i first was diagnosed with Scheuermann's Disease i wrote a message to a page i found on google, hoping that they could help me.... you'd never know it but that weird feeling (you know that one where it feels like someone actually cares) came over me when i opened my email next day to find that someone on the other side of the world (at the American Medical Library)had read my message while i was sleeping, and there low and behold was the address to MDJunction.... well it is everything to me, i live it breathe it and love it!!!!! I have found many people who are struggling with similar issues banding together to help each other. It is the best place in the world, and i couldn't think of another place to go to meet so many lovely people....

thanks MDJunction

I am soooo glad to hear that! If you don't mind my asking...what is PPH? Also, I'm sure there are differences between lung transplants and liver transplants, but can you give me an idea of what your daughter's first year was like post surgery?

Its Primary Pulmonary Hypertension. The first year was hell. She caught more infections and had rejection three times. With the lungs open to air and being around alot of kids you can guess. Her doc started her on methotrexate weekly by pill. Then suddenly it all just stopped. August will be 6 years post-transplant. She is a second degree black belt in karate, a flyer in cheerleading, and dates as much as any girl could want (more then my husband would like!). I don't know there are still times when its all just a bad dream I can't wake up from yet I am very greatful.

Have you had contact with your donor's family? Tell me more about your daughter.
