Scheduling my nerve decompression surgery was a 3-day ordeal, but I'm finally scheduled (Sept. 29)!!! I know I'm supposed to be only cautiously optimistic, but I'm all kinds of excited right now!!!

I know exactly how you are feeling. When my date for surgery was finally scheduled, I literally counted down the days until I was going to get better. I think that attitude definitely helps, keep thinking positively. Congrats.

Sept 29th? Is Dr. Perry doing your surgery? He's doing my second decompression surgery on September 28th. I'll tell him he better get a good night's sleep for you. Smile

Take care.

I was diagnosed with Occipital Neuralgia and variant form migraine in December 2007. This was after years of searching for an answer. I can remember having pretty bad headaches as a teenager, and then one car wreck at age 20 and another at age 21 sealed my fate. I've seen just about every type of medical specialist, and I've tried non-traditional things too. First nerve decompression surgery was in August 2008. Second nerve decompression surgery was in September 2010.

nomorepain, why are you having a second surgery and is it for the frontal pain? Just curious.

Hugs,

Patty

Thanks, snelko and Trixi!

Yes, nomorepain, Dr, Perry is doing my surgery on the 29th. Pre-op on the 27th and post-op on Oct 4th (both at 10:30). Any chance I'll run into you? Good luck with your surgery!

Snelko and nomorepain, did either of you rent the Aquecool mask for after the surgery? If so, would you recommend it? Is it really worth the $400?

Thanks,

Heather
