Hello everyone my name is Kevin and I am new to this forum. OCD had struck my awareness at age 11, however I could remember small compulsions at an even earlier age. I have a question to ask anybody that can relate their experiences. I have recently been "battling" an obsession dealing with transformation. To explain specifically, transformation obsessions are when I fear that my behavior or actions are imitating or taking on characteristics of someone else's behavior. It could be the way I laugh, speak, hand gestures, body posture, ect. It's like the thought of a co-worker's, friends, "enemy's"(someone who "wronged" me) imagined behavior comes into my conscious awareness and I believe I am copying their behavior. Like my identitiy is being threatened. Ofcourse I then compulse by repeatedly thinking or conducting any action or thought till it "feels" right and safe. I hope I am not alone in this with these particular obsessions. Can anyone relate to this? |
