So how many of you out there count all the time? I used to race the bathtub. I would get out of the bathtub and have dry off and get dressed before the water ran all the way out of the tub. I love showers Also I have to have all my can goods with the label facing out so I can read it. My mother in law does not do this and I feel the need to fix it every time I see it. It drives me nuts! I count when I sit down to go to the bathroom. I don't start as soon as I sit down and I don't start at one. I don't know, just crazy things. So how many of you guys count things???

I used to count way more than I do now, but I still count. I don't even realize I do it sometimes. Are you a time watcher too? I have to have something that tells me what time it is even if I have no plans.

Great topic. My counting is OUTTA CONTROL, and always has been. Too much of a time-watcher here. It manifested itself well, in the shipping business, but i don't need that stress, and toll, on my body. I also have ADD/ADHD (not sure which, sorry), and that stops the counting, when i can no longer pay attention.

When i had a hospital stay a year ago, i had a conversation with a nurse, and he told me for the 1st time about ADD and OCD, working together, or against each other, in strange ways. It was an interesting angle, i hadn't previously heard of, that definitely led me to realize, my Bipolar care, depends greatly on my OCD care.

I am a musician, so counting can be practical, in music. I count myself to sleep, more often than not.

I also count myself to sleep, but only about 60% of the time does it work... So the rest of the night I just count over and over and over again, until I get tired of it and move on to something else.

I had an elevator accident(3 floors) last year, and had a lot of physical therapy.

The physical therapy involved electroids to areas for 15 minute intervals, that I would count count count my way through. i think that period, shot my counting to the moon.

I think that would shoot anyones counting to the moon. One way to get through it though. I don't ride in elevators unless I have to. Too many people...I am glad you are doing better. Physical therapy, wonderful torture at least it is for the betterment of someone...lol

You want to know something really wacky, Amanda? I'm no longer afraid of elevators. I feel like the person that survived a plane crash, in that, it doesn't happen twice. That's messed-up thinking, but that happens.

I had a touch of Agoraphobia before, now a ton.

I have a lot less trust in "The Man," so to speak, and am utterly disgusted, by the cheapening of corporate America. In turn corporations are cutting a lot more corners, and people get hurt, by said corporation$ skimping, on maintenance, of elevators and such.

Funny how an accident like that manifests itself. Wreaked havoc, on my mental healthcare/health.

Almost everything now seems to be about money and how to save a penny from a "fund" that needs it so they can stick in their piggybank and make that profit line so they can get that bonus, nevermind the peole that get hurt in the process. I wish we could get along without money. Since we can't I don;t see it getting any better. I dolike to have money, but not at the expense of others. I could go to school and get a job that doean't help others and make lots of money, but don't. i care about the people I work with. They count on me and I count on them.

BTW, counting has not helped me go to sleep tonight. I have a new job and I can't seem to get it our of my head...
