Has anyone out there lost and then gained it all back?

I lost a lot on the south beach diet 2 years ago and then I had surgery last year and now don't feel as motivated I love to walk but it takes a lot these days to even do that-any support out there?

Yes I understand. I 've weight several times just to gain it back. I cheated on my diet yesterday. But I started back on it today. I haven't been exercising this past week either. Shame on me. Sometimes I just don't feel motivated. Maybe we can motivate each other. What do you think?

It happens to all of us. No one is safe. The trick and hard part is to catch it coming back and nip it in the bud before the 3 pounds become 5, 10, 15 and so on. Its hard. Thats why its a multi-billion dollar industry! But we can do it. Just keep your chin up and keep some good motivating friends out there. Don't lable food as "bad" because that only makes you want it more. I personally give myself 1 treat a day. Just because I love sweets. So if I make it a special time, and treat. I savor it. And enjoy it. Instead of beating myself up for it and cursing the scale the next day. Keep exercising slowly and carefuly. Be aware of your calories and your weight will slowly decline again. You can do it! Never give up! Youre worth it and more!!

Hello everyone!

Like all of you, I too have lost lots of weight just to gain it back. Two years ago, I lost 95 pounds and have gained much of it back. There are a whole lot of reasons (excuses) for why it happened -- pelvic and lower abdominal nerve damage, chronic pain, failed IVF and loads of fertility meds, etc. But I think what it truly came down to for me was that I went straight to denial land and thought -- oh, no biggie, I will just eat what I want today and work harder tomorrow. And then tomorrow never comes until you get a reality check slap across the face and realize it is time to embrace today.

I have devoted myself back to my health lifestyle. I use the Richard Simmons Food Mover (keeps me accountable and it is easier for me than journalling), and alternate cardio with my Fluidity Bar (which I love since my exercise is so limited die to my nerve damage). I started today and I already slipped up and ate 1 serving (yes, measured out) of cookie dough icecream. I need to succeed with this because I am planning to start trying to get pregnant again and I want to be healthy for my child(ren). I know I should wait until I am down to my "ideal weight" before considering such things, but my doctors (including my fertility specialist) say I am fine where I am but every pound I lose makes it even better as long as I don't do the yo-yo thing or anything bad for me. So, I am committing myself to this new lifestyle 100%. No more yo-yo. No more fad diets. No more starving myself or being unhealthy. Time to get back to basics and do what I know needs to be done. After all, I feel that I was the one who put the food in my mouth so now it is my job to burn it all off.

So, that is a little about me. I look forward to getting to know all of you and being part of such a positive and supportive environment. Believe me, I can use all the help I can get!

Kelly
