why would you use a decompression machine to help headaches? It is for back pain?

I can see how if there is any pressure on nerves or if there are problems with CSF pressure this sort of machine might do a lot. It might even help if there is muscle tension in the neck because it sort of helps you stretch out in a way you normally don't. These headaches are strange enough that it wouldn't surprise me if a machine normally used for back pain is useful for some people.

It will probably be like most everything else we have talked about on this thread though, useful to some of us, and not helpful for others...but even if it helps a few it is worth looking into.

Have you used one of these things Matt? If so does it hurt? Is it noisy? I think some of the chiropractors around here have them, but I am not really sure.

We have a sailboat. Right now it's on a lake. But we're about to either move it or trade it for another at the coast. As long as it helps relieve the pain, it's worth the trouble and money. Being among the uninsured, it allows great freedom of choice in how to spend money in order to feel better.

Similar but not the same...nerve blocks at your C2, C3, and C4 should relieve your headaches in the back of the head near the occipital region for about a month.
