I had some weird visual things at the begining of my headache kinda like that. Mine were often auras but sometimes flashes or flashes around things. Or flashes of dark instead of light. I have no idea what it was but it was probably part of my headache (which is a lot like a migraine...only none of my migraines have ever been that weird). My visual disturbances tapered down and went away come to think of it that might have been about the time I went on Topamax....hmmm, makes me wonder if I went off of it if they would come back. I sure hope not. I don't know why they would start after the headache has been going for a several years like yours, but I think some of the really long time people have mentioned that theirs have changed over time. If your next appointment is a long way out and it is bothering you I would probably call them. Just because it is so disturbing to live with and to be sure that it is just part of the headache.

I would just say its part of the headache. I get them all the time. Especially when I stand up after sitting or laying down. Its annoying and takes a while to get over them. I just assumed they were part of the headache because the worse they get the worse it gets. If it gets you nervous speak to your doctor. IT can never hurt.

Yes, I have flashes. It started in my peripheal vision in my left eye and I went to the eye dr. to make sure I did not have a retinal tear. They did not find anything, then a couple of months later it went away. About a month ago it started again, but this time in my right eye.
